Astute Ghanaian Football Administrator Kofi Manu popularly known as ‘Blue Boy’ has asked Ghanaian giant’s Asante Kotoko SC not to border themselves at the Ghana Football Association over any appeal.
The Premiership club have been ordered by the Player’s Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association to pay Gh¢ 198,000 to four Former Players. Having terminated their contract unlawfully before their contract expiration.
On Monday, January 25, 2021 the Player’s Status Committee announced the verdict for the case which was separately filed by four of their former players, Evans Owusu, Stephen Tetteh Ayiku, Abass Mohammed and Matthew Kelvin Andoh.
Asante Kotoko SC through their administrative manager Emmanuel Dasoberi have written to the Football Association seeking for directions to appeal on the aforementioned ruling.
However, former Aduana Stars Chief Executive Officer and former Player’s Status Committee Chairman Kofi Manu says, not a sentence in the newly approved GFA status gives room for appeal especially a case dealt with by the Player’s Status Committee.
According to him, the status does not mitigate an appeal. Therefore advice Asante Kotoko SC to meet with the players and settle down amicably.
“There is no provision or section in the status that gives Asante Kotoko SC the chance to appeal any decision”Asante Kotoko can not appeal anything at the Ghana Football Association”, he told Kumasi Ashh FM in an interview.
“Kotoko should find a way to settle this, because their appeal will be dismissed because of article 58″The status which was approved in 2019 is not normal it’s just odd and no one got up to fight it”
“It’s sad, the almighty Asante Kotoko SC will now suffer this, the status are just not inconsistent”The Players Status Committee is not appealable”
“How can Asante Kotoko SC go on to appeal”, he quizzed.
