Mr Commey-Bortsie who previously worked with the club as a Physio maintains the club has helped its past players than has recieved, and believe forner player criticising the management is without just cause.
He stresses the club has offered its past players enough opportunity to excel, but non has been able to justify those confidence reposed in them.
In a response to a latest outburst by the former Goalie, Commey-Bortsie told 442gh, “the club has done more than they can do for us, it is for us to prove ourselves”
“In 2014, the entire technical team of Hearts of Oak was made up of former players, we had Mohammad Polo in charge, his assistant, Goalkeepers trainer, and all the other technical positions were handed to former Hearts players, what did we do with that” he questioned.
James Commey-Bortsie who is current vice Chairman of the Accra Hearts of Oak old Players Association [Ahoopa] noted that, its not always the case for the club to do something for the former players, but believes they must also help themselves.
Mr Commey-Bortsie admitted rhe club has its shortcomings, but that must not discredit the efforts it has made in lifting the status of former players
“In actual fact, Hearts of Oak had its wrongdoing, but as old players, we must not point fingers at the club for not supporting us, when we are giving the chance, we must ensure we utilize it to the benefit of the club”.
“The club has always opened its doors to former players, buts its left for the individual to take them and excel, its the same thing Kosta Papic is doing with Esme Mends now’.
