Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey played the full trottle in Leicester City’s hard fought home win in the Emirates FA cup.
Amartey who has been sidelined for over a month due to injury played a major role in a cold night at the King Power Stadium where Brighton and Hove Albion had come with all ‘guns Blazing’.
Playing in a 3 back system together with Turkish international Çağlar Söyüncü, and James Justin, Amartey had a great night covering his backline and offering attscking options to the foxes.
The tie appeared to be heading for extra-time when Vontae Daley-Campbell’s run into the penalty area was cut short, and Brighton managed to scramble the ball away for a corner.
A quickly-taken corner, eventually leading to a Youri Tielemana cross into the penalty area, was headed home by substitute Kelechi Iheanacho to send the Foxes into the quarter-finals.
Daniel Amartey would hope to keep himself fit for the remainder of the season, having picked another knock in his return in December.
