Former NPP National Nasara Coordinator aspirant, Alhaji Ali Suraj has made a passionate appeal to all his party faithful who are still harboring issues in the past to let go and rally their support behind President Akufo-Addo to succeed in his 2nd term.
Taking into account the outcome of the Parliamentary Election in the 2020 general election, Alhaji Ali Suraj acknowledged the fact that the NPP has internal bickering which culminated in the results of the Parliamentary Election.
Speaking on Peace FM’s The Platform Evening Political Show, Alhaji Ali Suraj encouraged all embittered members to put aside the bad blood in the past and look at the bigger picture of Ghanaians who voted for President Akufo-Addo for the 2nd term due to their trust in his government.
He again calmed the fears of Ghanaians especially the NPP supporters about the ongoing 2020 election petition as nothing bad will happen to the country at end of the trial; reiterating that those who are still angry at others in the party should think of the party’s interest.
“I want to encourage NPP party supporters who are in fear due to the election petition that nothing bad will happen in the country and also to those who are angry due to some issues which cropped up to think of the party’s interest first”, he encouraged.
“Ghanaians need the Akufo-Addo led NPP government and that is why they voted for us and so we should not allow any misunderstanding and hatred for whatever happened in the party to disappoint Ghanaians who have so much trust in the NPP government”, he advised.
He held the view that Ghanaians did not change the Akufo-Addo government because of the benefit they have seen and enjoyed with the Free SHS policy and many other flagship programs enrolled by President Akufo-Addo.
“We should put our differences aside and come together as one great family and support Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because currently, I don’t know any President who is better than Nana Addo. Let’s pray and support Nana Addo to succeed”, he appealed.
He again pleaded with the people in the Zongo Communities to hold to the Akufo-Addo government and the NPP in order to continue to receive their portion of the national resource as Muslims have not been left of the first term of President Akufo-Addo.
He stated that people from the Zongos have benefited from the Akufo-Addo government through the Zongo Development Fund as some students from the Zongo communities have been taken to Cuba to be trained as medical doctors to help the Zongo communities.
“I will however plead with everyone in the Zongo communities to hold to the Akufo-Addo government and the NPP at large in order to continue to receive our portion of the national resources. We were not left of the first term of the President and so we should turn our back on the NPP”, he pleaded.
