Reigning Ghana Premier league champions Aduana Stars FC are set to boost their title defense with five new faces ahead of the second registration window slated for February 16, 2021.
The Dormaa based club chalked some impressive results in their indifferent start to the season including maximum points on the road to Asante Kotoko SC.
Head coach of the Fire Boys, Paa Kwasi Faabin, downplayed their title chances after 10 rounds of league fixtures, citing lean squad size as a determining factor.
Speaking after their historic 0-1 win over Asante Kotoko SC, Paa Kwasi Faabin, confirmed the potential arrival of five new players in the second registration window.
“We need not less than 5 new players to be considered title contenders in the league”.
“For now, we are not [contenders]; we are just trying to find our rhythm. But definitely, we need to reinforce if we want to be counted as contenders for the league title”, Paa Kwasi Faabin confirmed.
Sources closed to the reigning title holders revealed Aduana Stars FC will sign a trusted center forward to augment Yahaya Mohammed when the second registration window is officially opened.
Two attacking midfielders, a center back and a replace for Elvis Opoku will also be signed in the coming days as the club seeks to defend its domestic glory.
