Athletic Bilbao have booked final spot following their 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the Spanish Supa Cup sem final at Estadio La Rosaleda, Malaga.
Madrid had the first big chance in the game as Toni Kross cross found captain Sergio Ramos whose header went straight at the goalkeeper.
Bilbao drew the first blood through Raul Garcia who finished off brilliantly making the most of Dani Garcia’s defence line-breaking pass on the 30th munites.
A few minutes later the Basque side doubled their lead with Raul Garcia making no mistake from the spot to make it 2-0 in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, Madrid came asking and finally got their answer on the 75th minutes where Ferland Mendy’s pass found Benzema unmarked in the box who drilled in a powerful left-footed shot to reduce the deficit.
The goal was initially whistled for offside but VAR ruled it as goal after a review.
Athletic defence after conceding remained resolute and kept the Los Blancos at bay in the remaining minutes.
With the final set for Sunday in Seville, Athletic Bilbao will face Barcelona in the final at the Ramos Sanchez Pijuan stadium.
