The University of Professional Studies(UPSA) Accra, has expelled two female students from the school’s hostel for allegedly engaging in homos*xuality.
A notice released by the school says these students were involved in a three-some s*xual activity with one male who is a non-resident.
The notice by the school sighted on social media explained that these two female resident students engaged in lesbian s*x along with one male.
It went on to say the two female students, alleged to be lesbians, fondled each other in the act.
“Engaging in acts of lesbianism is contrary to Section 1.28.11(g) of the Student Handbook of the University of Professional Studies, Accra; 2018 and Schedule G 8.3 (23) of the Statute of the University.”
“They have since been dismissed from UPSA Hostel awaiting further sanctions from Management”.
The school therefore urged students to “desist from s*xual misconduct and observe all other rules and regulations in the Hostel as well as the Student Handbook. Any student caught infringing any of the regulations will not be spared.”
As it stands, the act of Lesbianism and homos*xuality is illegal in Ghana.
Lawmakers in the country are still deliberating on passing a law to officially criminalise activities of LGBTQ+.
